Mercury Toastmasters was chartered in October of 1958. All of the members were employees of the Western Electric Company, which later became AT&T. Later, the club opened up its membership to the public. As a matter of fact, there are still several Western Electric members with the club!

We are proud of our club and our reputation as a club that is warm and welcoming. We believe in learning in a fun and friendly environment. Our members are friends even outside our meetings. We have a Summer pool party in August and in December we have a Holiday party. Often, members meet after meetings for conversation and refreshments.

Our club has had members who have won almost every level of speech contest in Toastmasters, including having a contestant at the International Speech Contest. We have members who have attained the highest level awarded to a Toastmaster, The DTM. Whether your beginning a career or retired, working full-time, or not working at all, we have a place for you at Mercury Toastmasters!
