The mission of Mercury Toastmasters is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

Through participation in the Toastmaster Communication and Leadership program, people from all backgrounds learn to effectively speak, conduct a meeting, manage a department or business, lead, delegate and motivate. Here are some other things Toastmasters can do for you:

What's Involved?

In Toastmasters you can go at your own pace. We know there are times when spare time is at a premium. You can go as fast or as slow as you need to. All programs are self-paced.

Whether it is Communication skills you seek or Leadership training, Toastmasters offer “Hands-on” programs that will help you “Learn by doing”.

Toastmaster’s is cost effective. About $60 a year is all it cost. Compare that to professional seminars that cost hundreds of dollars per day!

An atmosphere of professional camaraderie makes your Toastmaster Club a unique learning environment – informal yet dedicated to learning and growing.

Toastmasters program can be tailored to meet your personal objectives. Whether you desire improvement in prepared or impromptu speaking, greater skills in the use of visual aids or a better grasp of parliamentary procedure, you’ll gain experience and knowledge in the areas that most interest you.

How the program works 

The Toastmaster program exposes each participant to a wide range of communication experiences.

· You receive a New Member Kit featuring a copy of the basic Communication and Leadership Manual, general orientation materials and information regarding skill improvement in areas such as speech evaluation and the use of gestures.

· A variety of speeches help you to develop competency in areas such as organization, voice inflection and persuasiveness.

· During the meeting’s Table Topics session, you learn to think on your feet by delivering impromptu speeches.

· After giving a prepared speech, you receive a constructive speech evaluation. This process recognizes your strengths and provides valuable insight into problem areas.

· Upon completion of the basic manual, you will receive your CTM certification and can choose additional speech manuals to work on based on your own personal interests.
